Originally from the upstate New York area, Michael initially began studying drums and percussion with teacher Russ Cariot. After graduating Michael attended the Berklee College of Music studying drums, percussion and flute with Alan Dawson and Joe Hunt. At this time he began gigging, playing flute and drums at local Boston clubs with local musicians in the rock, pop and jazz scene. During this period Michael began utilizing the piano for writing and arranging original music. Michael has been performing in the Pacific Northwest for over the last 4 decades, including performances at The Back Stage, Bumbershoot, Folk Life, The Washington State Fair, Seattle Locks, Chico World musical festival, Seattle Mardi Gras, and The Triple Door. Michael’s recordings and drumming/percussion performance sessions are extensive. They include working with: Lonnie Turner, (The legendary Steve Miller bass player), James Michael Thomas (Ray Charles guitarist), Alice Stuart (Burnside records recording artist), World jazz pianist/vocalist Rick Della Ratta and Donavan Keith (Austin Texas rock funk, singer songwriter. Michael’s debut CD, “Easy Street”showcases his soulful, expressive vocals, skillful tasty keyboard work, and solid tasty drumming. Michael’s music can be heard on itunes and amazon. His EP, "No way to hide it" is scheduled to be released 2023. Michael has worked as a producer, producing Betsy Haber's album, "Solitary Lady" 2019, at Studio 04, engineered by Mike Daily. Currently Michael is the bandleader, keyboardist, flute and lead vocalist for Moondance: Van Morrison Tribute band and drumming and playing flute for Taylormade a James Taylor tribute band. taylormadetribute.com.
